RECIPE: Superpower Smoothie

This is a follow-up on the previous article written by nutritionist Susan Brown. See Susan's bio at the bottom and please take the time to visit her website for all that she offers.

As Kris Carr says on her website… smoothies "pack in a boatload of fruits and veggies like you would for a juice, but you also keep all the fiber." Furthermore, they "are a great choice for people who need to watch their blood sugar—the fiber slows sugar absorption into the bloodstream"; and as far as smoothies go…

You can add ingredients to your drink that your juicer wouldn’t be able to handle, or that just don’t belong in a juice. Sprouts, nut butters, superfood powders? Load it up! And with those added, heartier ingredients, smoothies can even replace snacks or meals. — Kris Carr

Superfood smoothies go a long way towards providing the nutrients needed during your breast cancer recovery.
